There are people out there who claim that it’s possible to generate money solely from blogging. I tend to believe them hence participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge. Though this is not the only reason why I am taking part in this challenge.
I love blogging, I am far away from making it as an income source but it is a lead generation tool for me (when I do it consistently) , plus it allows me to communicate with people, share my knowledge and a little bit of my soul.
There are a lot of people whom I consider my teachers and mentors in the field of blogging and business building. Today I wanted to write about Leonie Dawson whom I really admire.
I admire women who can combine raising small children and running their own business. My children are almost grown up and they are able to help me, still it seems that I don’t have enough time. I don’t know how women who have new-borns can manage to run businesses.
I came across Leonie’s Facebook posts last year, some of my friends shared her updates. I’ve signed up to her newsletters and I was surprised how openly she talked about her private life and her struggles during the pregnancy, at the same time she was running a business. It made me realise that by sharing her struggles/ successes she has helped so many women to understand that they are not alone. By baring her soul she was serving so many women who needed to hear her message.
That’s why I believe that it is vital to be found on Social Media scene so people can hear a message from you.
Yesterday Leonie shared her 50Lessons from a decade of blogging and I wanted to highlight 5 of them that really stood out for me.
NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO LIKE YOU.
That is so true, and that is fine. Focus on those who will benefit from your message.
MAKE IT CONSUMABLE IN MORE MEDIA TYPES IF YOU CAN.
This is something that never occurred to me and Leonie also shares some tools how you can do it.
SPEED UP YOUR WRITING TIME.
Leonie suggests to write within Internet free zone. I usually get distracted with different tabs that are open on my computer, even now while I am writing, from tomorrow I am going to switch it off to see how it works.
FILL YOUR WELL
This is very important – to enrich your experience by trying out new things, meeting new people, visiting new places.
CREATE IN THE WAY THAT MAKES YOU FEEL ALIVE
This is important and I am taking this advice on board.
Head over to Leonie’s website and read the whole post, it’s full of colourful pictures and very useful tips.
Do you feel alive when you write your blog?
